Lessons in English Language Arts
This is a culminating project for their unit on food webs and food chains. Their presentations will be graded using a student created rubric. Each presentation needs to use key vocabulary: producer, consumer, decomposer, predator, prey, herbivore, omnivore, carnivore, and energy.
The lesson will cover finding pictures to represent vocabulary words and coming up with explanation of word. Students will have to practice looking into the camera while speaking loud enough into camera to record definitions. Using pictures inserted behind students into the Green Screen is a motivating factor which then gets put together into an iMovie. These videos can then be shared as links for others to see.
Students use Classkick to watch and see how students are responding to their ELA course.
The lesson will cover literary elements of character, setting, problem and resolution in a story.
Students learn to strengthen their writing using more interesting word choices and stronger verb choices in short sentences that relate to an image.
This video shows a lesson on writing personal narratives and then using Google Tours to show the location of the narratives.
